Where do my voice and my texts go?
Your voice stays in France, with Mistral AI (only if it goes down, OpenAI takes over in the United States). Your text is processed in the United States, by Cerebras or OpenAI. Motamot never keeps them on its servers, and they are never used to train an AI. Every provider, country and retention period is listed on the page Where my data goes (in French).
Which apps does it work in?
Anywhere you can type on your Mac: Gmail, Mail, Slack, WhatsApp, Notion, Word, ChatGPT, your code editor… Hold fn, speak, and the text lands at your cursor.
Which Mac do I need?
A Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Apple silicon or Intel, and a microphone (the built-in one is fine).
What about Windows?
Yes, on Windows 10 and 11: hold Ctrl + Windows, speak, and the text lands at your cursor.
What about my phone?
Motamot is made for the computer, where we write the most. You can still try it from your phone, at the top of this page, and send yourself the link for your Mac.
Is the trial really free?
Yes: 14 days, once per account. Your card is required when you sign up, but nothing is charged if you cancel before the trial ends.
How do I cancel?
In the app: Settings › Account › Manage / Cancel. Three clicks, no call, no reason needed. And within 14 days of subscribing, you can also withdraw (page in French) and get a refund.
